No! Not all lawyers in Ontario are also notary publics. That is why you cannot simply walk into any old law firm and assume you can get a document notarized.

Any lawyer who is in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario can apply to the Ministry of the Attorney General in order to be appointed as an Ontario Notary Public. There is an application fee to become a notary, however as long as the lawyer is in good standing then the appointment is automatically approved.

All of Notary Pro Canada’s notaries are also licensed lawyers in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, so you can rest assured that you will received licensed notary work when you meet with any member of our team.

If you have any questions about becoming a notary, feel free to email us at: [email protected] or visit the Government of Ontario website.

If you are looking to have a document notarized, please book an appointment online with us.
