Key Takeaways

  • Online Instant Notary Services are fully digital, and allow users to process their documents without waiting.
  • Upload your documents and ID, join the online queue, and meet with an online notary via video call.
  • Affidavits, statutory declarations, travel consent letters, and other common documents are eligible for online commissioning.
  • Use NotaryPro’s secure and globally compliant platform to ensure document integrity.

What are Online Instant Notary Services?

Online Instant Notary Services are Canada’s first fully digital commissioning service without the wait. Powered by NotaryPro’s robust online platform, you’ll be able to have your documents commissioned in minutes, right when you need them. The service is available 5 days a week during regular business hours.

How Does Online Instant Notary Service Work?

Accessing NotaryPro’s Online Instant Notary Service is easy. All you need to do is upload your documents and ID and join the queue. You’ll be able to see how many people are ahead of you, and once your notary is ready to meet, you’ll join your appointment online. During your meeting, you’ll be guided through the signing process. As soon as your documents are complete, you’ll receive them in your email in seconds.

How long does the process take?

From start to finish, NotaryPro’s instant service can take as little as 10 minutes– no pre-booking necessary!

Which Documents Can Be Commissioned Online?

Nearly every document that requires a commissioning can be completed during your Online Instant Notary appointment. These can include affidavits and statutory declarations like the Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor Form (PPTC132), Travel Consent letters, and business documents like CCDC 9A / 9B Forms for contractors.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Learn more about documents that can be commissioned online by clicking here.

There are a few limitations for documents that don’t yet qualify for our Instant Service, these include: Last Will & Testament and Power of Attorney (please book our Virtual Witnessing service for these instead!).

You must also meet with a notary in person to notarize Trusts (including Testamentary Trust), Negotiable Instruments (Cheque, Promissory Notes, Loan Agreements, etc), Payment Bond or letter of credit, a document of title (e.g. bill of sale, deed), Certified true copies of original paper/printed documents, and Separation/Divorce Agreements.

How Much does it cost?

Our instant service fee is $8.95 in addition to our regular commissioning  fees which can be found on our prices page.

Preparing for an Online Instant Notary Appointment

It’s our mission to make notary and commissioning services as fast, easy, and transparent as possible. To ensure your instant commissioning goes smoothly, follow these steps:

  1. Upload your documents and ID
    • While you’re uploading your documents, you’ll be asked to confirm the number and type of documents you need commissioned.
  2. Double check your tech
    •  Since your session is remote, you’ll need a desktop, laptop, or tablet with a reliable Internet connection. You’ll also need a camera, speakers, and microphone to easily see and speak with your notary.
  3. Join the queue
    • You’ll be able to see your position in line, and as soon as your notary is ready, you’ll be prompted to join your appointment.
  4. Have your documents commissioned
    • Your notary will guide you through the entire process to ensure your documents are completed correctly. This helps us maintain our 99.9% document acceptance rate!
  5. Check your email
    • After your appointment, your commissioned documents will be sent directly to your inbox.
